While metal cards are often linked to high-end or premium offerings from financial institutions, companies like Metal Card Studio Inc. have recently begun offering services to convert standard plastic cards into metal ones, making this upgrade more accessible.

To get a metal debit card, you can go through the traditional route of applying for one at a financial institution such as American Express, CIBC, TD, or BMO. However, these cards often require a high income ($150,000+), high annual fees, and a high minimum annual spend in order to keep the card.

Our process is quick, easy, and secure!

Once we receive your debit card, we extract the EMV chip and magnetic stripe data and transfer them to your new metal card. Afterwards, we’ll engrave your chosen design onto the front and back of the card. We then ship both cards back to you via free UPS shipping.

We have strict policies in place to ensure that your card information is kept secure at all times, and will never be misused.

Once we receive your card in the mail, we perform the transfer on the same day. We’ll then ship it back to you via free UPS shipping which typically takes:

• 1 to 2 days in Canada
• 2 – 3 days in the US
• 5 – 7 days everywhere else

Absolutely! Metal Card Studio Inc. is a registered Canadian corporation. We have strict policies in place to ensure that none of your card information is stored or misused.

Once the procedure is complete, we’ll mail your old card and your new card back to you.

It’s highly illegal to steal and misuse someone else’s debit card information. The consequences involve severe fines and imprisonment and we’d like to avoid both!

Our cards are made of solid metal, which cannot tap.

Plastic debit cards have antennas built into the cards that enable them to support contactless payment. These antennas cannot be carried over to solid metal cards.

It’s a small sacrifice in exchange for a premium, heavy metal debit card.

While tap won’t work with your new card, you can still connect your card to Google Pay or Apply Pay for the contactless payment functionality.
